23.08.18 - Ockbrook School Achieves Outstanding GCSE Results

We’re celebrating another successful year of GCSE results, with more than 50 percent of all exams graded A*-A/Grade 9-7 and students excelling in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography  and Modern Foreign Languages.   

A total of 100 percent of all grades achieved in Biology and Chemistry were A*-B with 97 percent in Physics. In Mathematics, 61 percent of students achieved A*-A (9-7); 94 percent were graded 5-9 in Geography with 88 percent were graded 5-9 in Modern Foreign Languages.

Special congratulations go to Niamh Barry, Aimee Hosein, Abigail Kinsella, Sean Morrissey-Ralevic and Imogen Sidaway, who each achieved outstanding results.

Headmaster, Tom Brooksby said: “A fantastic set of GCSE results for our students this year, so many of them have done exceptionally well. They have achieved the very highest grades across all subjects taken and done a great service to the school, their parents and themselves. Once again, I also must thank our expert teachers who have done a sterling job and are the best of their profession.”

Mathematics – 61% A*-A (9-7) / 87% Grade 5+ / 100% Grade 4+
Biology – 100% A*-B
Chemistry – 100% A*-B
Physics – 97% A*-B
Geography – 94% at grades 5+ / 88% at 6+
Modern Foreign Languages – 88% at Grades 5-9
Attainment 8 (School’s calculation) = 63
