Over 50 visitors joined us during an action-packed week of activities as part of Primary Open Week, which saw four of our highly talented athletic students taking podium positions at the cross country tournament.
The highlight of the sporting activities taking place during the week was the Year 3-6 cross country tournament, with students from four schools across Derbyshire also competing. Excellent performances came from four of our pupils who won medals.
A special congratulations goes out to Malachy Watt (1st place – Year 5 and 6 Boys); Ben Derbyshire (2nd – Year 3 and 4 Boys); Jasmine Ellis (2nd – Year 5 and 6 Girls); Taylor Kalinins (3rd – Year 5 and 6 Boys).
Sue Worthington, Head Teacher, Ockbrook School Primary Department, said: “I’d like to thank everyone involved in Primary Open Week. Our wonderful school focuses on developing young people into rounded adults and that starts here in the Primary Department.
“It was a pleasure to welcome so many new faces and to share the things that make our school so special. We hope to see our visitors joining us in September. I’d also like to congratulate the amazing efforts of all the children who took part in the cross country competition! It was a really enjoyable day for all involved.”
