25.08.16 - GCSE Success at Ockbrook School

It was tears of joy today as we marked another successful year of GCSE and iGCSE (international) results. Seven students excelled with A* and A grades across the board in all subjects, including two students with nine A* and one A.

Huge congratulations to all our talented students, with a special mention to;

Harriet Walker-Smith, 16 from Ockbrook – nine A* and one A
Karrissa Webster, 16 from Nuthall –  nine A* and one A
Jessica Langton, 16 from Langley Mill – five A* and five A
Francesca Muir-Harris, 16 from Borrowash – four A* and five A
Lauren Nutty, 16 from Weston-on-Trent – six A* and five A
Sara Marriott, 16 from Trowell – five A* and five A
Rebecca Elvidge, 16 from Bramcote – eight A* and three A

Celebrating results with the students, staff and parents was Headmaster Tom Brooksby: “I am so proud of our students who have pulled out all the stops to achieve these excellent grades; they are a credit to the school.

“With 72% of papers graded A* to B and an impressive 56% graded A* to A, students have great foundations on which to make the transition into their chosen A Level courses in our Sixth Form.

“As with many independent schools around the country, Ockbrook’s iGCSE subjects are not reported by the Department for Education, but I’m delighted to report that 84% of students achieved five A*- C grades, including iGCSE Maths and English.”

Results for Ockbrook School are as follows:

A* – A grades = 56%
A* – B Grades = 72%
Five plus A* – C including Maths and English = 84%
