Ockbrook School is a coeducational day and boarding school for children aged 2-18 years. Boarding is available for girls and boys aged 11-18 only. Admission is available at any time.
Prospective students are invited to spend at least one session in school working alongside students of their own age group, as part of the assessment/entrance process.
Prospective students aged 11-16 years may also be required to sit a formal Entrance Examination. 11+ and Sixth Form Entrance Examinations take place in January of each year.

Year 7 (age 11) and Sixth Form Entrance Examinations for admission to Ockbrook School, take place in January each year.
The offer of a place is dependent upon Entrance Examination results and interviews.
Scholarships are available to both internal and external candidates. Academic Scholarships may be awarded annually on the results of the Entrance Procedures at 11+ and 16+ and at the discretion of the Headmaster at any time. Academic Scholarships automatically run, subject to an annual review, through into our Sixth Form as long as the original conditions are being met by the student and parents.
Scholarships are available to students in a number of areas based on academic merit or performance in specific subject areas (Art, Drama, Music and Sport). There is also a Headmaster’s Award which may be given to a student who displays all round achievement. All awards are made on the understanding that the recipient will remain enthusiastic and committed to the field in which he/she has been given the award either by making significant academic progress or by contributing fully to School life in terms of participation in School teams, productions or orchestras as appropriate. Art, Sport, Drama and Music scholarships cease if the student no longer studies that subject at GCSE level or later at A Level. Exceptions to this rule may arise if the student is still fully involved with Art, Sport, Drama or Music in school, supporting events in that field and representing the school e.g. captain of the school netball team.
Bursary Awards are given to those pupils whose parents require financial assistance to enable payment of the full fees; they are fully means tested. Bursary Applications can be submitted with your application form, if applicable. Bursaries are awarded at the discretion of the Headmaster and will normally continue throughout the pupil’s school career subject to an annual review of the parents’ means, which will take place during the summer term. In addition, a Bursary may be awarded if parents’ financial circumstances deteriorate during their child’s time in school.
Any award is given subject to a satisfactory annual review and may be withdrawn at the discretion of the Governors and Headmaster if a pupil’s conduct or performance proves unsatisfactory.

Ockbrook School is listed on the MOD’s Accredited Schools Database (ASD). This means that as a Service parent you can claim the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) if you choose to send your child to Ockbrook School.

Not only are we proud of our outstanding academic record, but we cater for all our students with an array of extra-curricular endeavours from sports to music, Duke of Edinburgh to art.
We are proud of our pastoral care, and the established boarding element in the school means that we have years of experience in round the clock care for our students. We also understand that students whose family come from a military background may be exposed to different pressures and we are sensitive to many of the issues arising from this.

When two or more pupils from one family are attending the school, there is a reduction of 4% on the above tuition and boarding fees for the second child, 20% for the third and 25% for the fourth and subsequent children (please note sibling discount applies once a child enters Reception class).
A discount of 2% will be allowed where the whole year’s tuition and boarding fees are paid in advance, i.e. by 9.00 am on the first day of the Autumn Term. If you wish to pay the year’s fees in advance please inform the Finance Department in writing no later than 4 weeks before the end of the Summer Term.

We welcome families and visitors on an individual basis throughout the year. We host an annual whole school open day, as well as an open day exclusively for our Early Years Department. This provides parents and prospective pupils with the opportunity to take in the school’s excellent facilities, meet staff and current students and experience the setting of the school in its impressive and extensive grounds.
